Junior Coaching at Mearns Golf Academy

12 Juniors and some seniors were at Mearns Castle Golf Academy today for a coaching session. Unfortunately due to the pouring rain the arranged game on the 9 hole course was unable to take place.

However chipping practice and putting followed by lunch was the
order of the day. Alyson McGinnigle's Team of Lucy
Bannerman, Natasha Qayum and Nicky Wilson
were the winners of
all the fun competitions

Why not become an RLCGA blogger

Welcome to the RLCGA HOTNEWS Web page. Each item on the page is called a posting. Each posting is date and time stamped, and you can see the author's name on the last line.At the moment it says "RLCGA Member" They really have been posted by Carol Fell. Christeen Finlayson posted the last item about the Coaching at Mearns Castle.
I don't mind what goes up... it could be results of your recent medal at your home course, the CSS for your competition, a link to another website, a report of a recent match, an announcement of a hole-in-one etc. in short, anything that you think the readers would find interesting. It's your page. Please email Carol if you would like to contribute to these pages by becoming a RLCGA correspondent.

RLCGA Ladies Training Squad

The Ladies Training Squad had an excellent morning's coaching with Karyn Burns at the Mearns Golf Academy on Sunday morning. The emphasis was on the short game and this was followed by 8 of the girls playing a friendly match over 9 holes against the Renfrewshire Boys. It was a very close contest with the honours just going to the boys.

The Vilamoura Texas Scramble

The Faulds and the Fells were 3rd in the texas scramble with a gross 68 net 60 in the final event of the week played over Pinhal Golf Course. The Four Seasons Vilamoura Stableford Classic

Bobby Faulds played steady golf today over Pinhal Golf Course in the Algarve today. Despite getting no points at the last, his 33 points was enough to lift the trophy for the 1st time in more than 10 attempts. Gordon Fell was runner up despite not scoring at the last 2 holes. Somebody stole his ball at the 17th and 18th !!
On the distaff side Carol and Helen scored the same number of points . We are not telling you what !
We however finished a point outside the prizelist.
This was all played in glorious sunshine.
We would like to recommend Quinta de Ria which we played yesterday . It was in magnificent condition and a tough test for all.
Cheers from your roving reporter Carol !!
