Alyson McKechin is a prizewinner at the Scottish Under 21 Championships

Congratulations go to Alyson McKechin (Elderslie) who won the Best under 15 Gross Aggregate Prize ( 84-81-79: 244.) at the Scottish Under-21 girls' open amateur championship which finished at Powfoot Golf Club yesterday. She also won a prize for having the best scratch score in the same age group by having a gross 79 on the third day
The CSS for each round was 73-72-74.
BEST UNDER-15 GROSS AGGREGATE: Alyson McKechin (Elderslie) 84-81-79: 244.

Golf for Four at Gleneagles

The committee is trying to raise money for the Renfrewshire County Team who are in the Scottish Finals at Inchmarlo, Banchory on the 19th - 21st September.
Cammy Kyle has kindly donated a round of golf for four to be played over Gleneagles and the draw for the raffle will take place at the Bridge Drive at Eastwood Golf Club on the 10th September.

Eilidh Briggs is off to France to compete in the European Young Masters

Good luck to Eilidh who is leaving tomorrow for the European Young Masters to be played at Chantilly Golf Club, Paris, from 24th to 26th July. The Scottish Team for this International event is Eilidh (Kilmacolm), Carly Booth (Crieff), Andrew McLachlan (Bonnyton) and Jack Scott (Deeside). Immediate Past Captain, Beth Paterson, joins the team in her capacity as SLGA representative.

Scottish County Finals - Inchmarlo Golf Resort - 19th, 20th and 21st September, 2008.

Vice Captain, Trish Brown, is the Caddy Mistress for the Scottish County Finals at Inchmarlo (5 minutes by car from Banchory). If you are interested in coming along to caddy please contact Trish by email - she will be delighted to hear from you.

If you are planning to caddy on Friday morning, 19th September, please remember you will have to check in on the Thursday evening as it is approximately a three hour drive from Glasgow.

Alyson McKechin is Elderslie's Ladies' Club Champion

Congratulations to Alyson McKechin who became Elderslie's Club Champion on 29th June. Alyson, aged 15 on the 22nd of June, is the youngest person to win the Club Championship in its 99 year history. Well done, Alyson.

Winner at Cowglen to-day was Cathy Morton (Eastwood) with a net 70 (a.c.b.) off a handicap of 10. Best gross was 16 year old Natasha Qayum (Ranfurly Castle) with a score of 79. The competition became reductions only after thunder, lightening and heavy rain.
