Megan is out in the worst of the weather at Balgownie and misses the cut at the British Open

Nine Scots figured among the 44 qualifiers for Friday's final two rounds with two-round aggregates of 22-over-par 166 or better. Unfotunately Renfrewshire's Megan Briggs was one of the early starters when the rain and gale force winds were at their full force and had a terrible 2nd round and just missed the cut off for the last 2 rounds.
Tournament director Susan Simpson from Carnoustie admitted later that around 11am she did go out to the exposed 10th green to check the wind-and-ball situation.
Other West of Scotland players who made the cut were Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle) and Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle)

So sorry Megan to hear that it was such awful conditions to spoil such a good first round
