FANTASTIC SUM RAISED AT BEETLE DRIVE.

Many thanks go to everyone who supported our fundraising Beetle Drive today at Ralston Golf Club. 96 ladies enjoyed the thrill of the game but no one could match the table from Cathcart Castle with their speed of dice throwing. Viv Nicol was the outright winner with 95 points.
Very generous bidding in the Silent Auctions raised £320 with Maureen Woodhead winning the 4 ball at Glasgow Gailes, Gillian McGinlay the 3 ball at Pollok and Birgit Clarke the handbag, glove and scarf set. Thank you ladies.
The raffle was again very generously supported raising £677 and hopefully most ladies went home with a prize. All your donations were very much appreciated. Thank you also to our stallholders-Carol, Doreen and Val-who gave up their time this afternoon and donated to the raffle, auction and gave a percentage of their sales to our funds.
The total raised, including donations from some members who could not attend, was £1259. Amazing!

Look out for the next email giving details of our biannual County Dinner!

WINTER FOURSOMES QUARTER FINAL RESULT.

Elaine Munn and Gillian Kyle (East Renfrewshire) could not take advantage of their home fixture against Norah Adams and Sandra Winter (Kilmacolm) on Monday. The course was looking great for the time of year and weather lovely. They couldn't really blame the giving of quite a few shots, or the winter greens at the start, as Norah and Sandra played very steadily and scored very well. Net pars were difficult to beat so the home pair found themselves 4 down after 10 but rallied to get back to 2 down after 15. Elaine's putt for birdie at the 16th missed by an inch so the hole was halved in net 4's. With Norah chipping right up to the hole for a certain 4, net 3, the home pair conceded the match. A most enjoyable way to spend a Monday morning!

1ST TRAINING SESSION OF 2017.

Senior and Juniors at Glasgow Indoor Centre
Photos courtesy of June Lockhart

The Senior and Junior County squads enjoyed their 1st training night at the Glasgow Indoor Golf Centre with Karyn Burns leading the session.

They worked hard and were treated to pizza afterwards !

Hopefully the evening sparked some enthusiasm for more practice over the winter months before the season starts in April.

RLCGA BEETLE DRIVE

It's under 3 weeks to our fundraising Beetle Drive so we would now like to invite you to reserve a space/s so that we can advise Ralston GC of numbers. We had almost 100 ladies taking part last year so get your name in quickly as we could not squeeze many more in the room! Please email Gillian at the address above if you would like to come along.

DETAILS-Ralston GC, Sunday 29th January from 2pm-5pm (approx.) Please bring guests who are non-members of the County should you wish. £5 to pay on the day to cover coffee/cake and room hire.

We are delighted to have Carol McNally (scarves and handbags), Val Lawrence (Stella and Dot jewellery) and Doreen Mainds (tablet) displaying their wares and offering a percentage of their sales to our funds.

There will be a Silent Auction for a 4 ball at Glasgow Gailes GC and a 3 ball plus lunch at Pollok GC so try to organise your bids before the day. There will also be some envelopes priced at £40 for a lucky dip for 4 balls at local courses. As before, we will be having a raffle so all donations shall be gratefully received on the day.

We look forward to launching the 2017 season with you and thank you for your continued support at this fundraising event.

Regards,
The RLCGA Committee

ENJOY 9 THIS WINTER TIME

Scottish Golf is among a number of golfing bodies working hard to promote the many benefits of playing 9-hole golf. With Scotland blessed with many 9-hole golf courses, it’s far from a new concept, but it’s a shorter form of golf that can suit today’s busy lifestyles, from those competing in 9-hole medals to those taking their first steps in the game.
