The Renfrewshire 2008 Team to compete in the Inter-County Divisional Championships at Hilton Park Golf Club on Monday 23rd, Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th June, has just been announced.

Inter County Foursomes Finals - East Kilbride Golf Club

Renfrewshire County did very well in the Inter County Foursomes Final held yesterday the 21st May at East Kilbride Golf Club. The weather was perfect and the course was in good condition which made it an enjoyable day.

In the Handicap section Mary Hardie & Sheila Gray (Ranfurly Castle) were 1st with a net score of 68.5.

Clare- Marie Carlton is selected by the SLGA for the Irish Women's Open Championship

Clare-Marie Calrton (Fereneze) has been selected by the SLGA to take part in Irish women's open amateur stroke-play championship at Elm Park Golf Club, Donnybrook, a few miles south of Dublin, on June 28 and 29. County Champion Megan Briggs (Kilmacolm) is a reserve.
Jocelyn Carthew (Ladybank) who was runner up n the Scottish Championships last week has been made captain of the Scotland team of four for the trip.
The team is: Jocelyn Carthew (Ladybank) (Louise Kenney (Pitreavie), Clare-Marie Calrton (Fereneze) and Jane Turner (Craigielaw).
Megan Briggs (Kilmacolm) and Claire MacDonald (Gullane Ladies) are reserves.

Curtis Cup Michele Thomson wins the Scottish Championship at Lossiemouth

Michele Thomson from Ellon, Aberdeenshire endorsed her Curtis Cup team selection by winning the Scottish women's amateur championship for the first time after an 18-hole final with golf that matched the glorious sunshine at Lossiemouth on the Moray Firth today.

Megan and Clare Marie do well in the 1st round of the Scottish Championships

Congratulations go to Clare-Marie Carlton (Fereneze) who came home in 35 for a terrific round of 75 over the Moray Golf Club Old Course, Lossiemouth. Par 76 (6146yd)in the 1st qualifying round of the Scottish Championships. She was closely followed by county champion Megan Briggs (Kilmacolm) who also came back in one under par 35 for a gross 76 to be up near the top of the leaerboard

Megan and Eilidh do well in the Ness Open

Laura Murray from Alford produced an excellent second-round 69 to win the Ness Open 36-hole SLGA Order of Merit women’s golf tournament at Inverness Golf Club today.

Laura’s 145 total saw her home with two shots to spare from Megan Briggs (Kilmacolm), Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle) and Lesley Hendry (Routenburn), all on 147. Megan was officially placed second and Kylie third by virtue of their second rounds, 72 and 73, to Lesley’s 75.
Younger sister, Eilidh was placed second in the handicap section --- WELL DONE TO YOU BOTH

RLCGA Juniors -- Alyson and Soarcha are LGU Qualifiers at Windyhill

Karyn Burns (Mearns Castle Golf Academy) who coaches our County Team was suddenly on duty at the final round of the Scottish Ladies Open Championship at the Carrick Loch Lomond today. She caddied for the French Player Melodie Bourdy (France) who was out in the 4th last game with Clare Queen (Scotland) and Rebecca Hudson (England) Bourdy had a 1 under par round today to finish on +1.

Megan improves on Day 2 at the Scottish Open at The Carrick Loch Lomond but fails to make the Cut

Megan did exceedingly well in the 2nd round of the Scottish Open at the Carrick Loch Lomond. Today, Megan started at the 1st hole and dropped 5 shots to the turn. However, her inward 1 under par - 7 shots better than yesterday on the same holes gave her a 5 over par round of the day --- Well done Megan
