Gillian McGinlay wins the Autumn Meeting
Gillian McGinlay (Cochrane Castle) had a terrific round at the Autumn Meeting today at Cathcart Castle. Her Gross Score of 73 was the best of the day. Despite a double bogey 5 at the first hole she went out in 36. She then came back in even par 37 to be 1 under the SSS 69. The CSS then went up to 71 and Gillian is now cut to a handicap of 4 the lowest she has ever been.

Eilidh Briggs is the RLCGA Junior Champion
The RLCGA Junior Championship was played at Bonnyton Golf Course today. Lesley Cosh (Cowglen) beat Natasha Qayum (Ranfurly Castle) in the morning semi final.
Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm)then won in the final against Lesley to become the 2006 RLCGA Junior Champion

Double Whammy for RLCGA's Morag Keys
Congratulations go to Morag Keys who last weekend won Erskine's Club Championship and Ralston's Club Championship
Here is a picture of Morag with Erskine's Ladies Club Captain Gina McDougall presenting her with the championship cup. This is Morag's second win at Erskine, the last one was in 1998 . It was a very exciting finals match as Morag fought her way back from 3 down against Fiona Campbell to clinch the title on the 18th green.

Renfrewshire Girls' Championship 2006
This will be held at Bonnyton Golf Club on Saturday 26th August.
Unfortunately not all the eligible girls are able to play so there will be one semi-final at 9.30am between Natasha Qayum (Ranfurly Castle) and Leslie Cosh (Cowglen) with the winner playing Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm) in the final at 1.30pm.
Everyone is very welcome to come and support the girls and admire their golfing skills.

Committee Member Dorothy Yates is a winner
Fiona Lockhart and Elaine Moffat, both members of St Regulus Golf Club, St Andrews – and both former Scottish women’s amateur champions, added another national title to their golfing CV at Cowglen Golf Club, Glasgow today
They won the Scottish women’s foursomes title by one shot from the Baberton pairing of Karen Marshall and Fiona Hunter.
Fiona and Elaine had rounds of 77 and 73 over the par-72 women’s course for a total of 150.
Karen Marshall and Fiona Hunter scored 71 and 80 for 151.
The best net total was 142 off a handicap of eight by local members Dorothy Yates and Chris Fowler. They had gross scores of 77 and 81 (net 69 and 73)

Jennifer Jenkins winning Scottish Girls Team
Victorious Scottish Girls team flanked by coach Karyn Dallas and captain Jennifer Jenkins
Congratulations go to Jennifer Jenkin's team who beat Wales 7 - 2, England 7 ½-1½ and finally thrashed Ireland 9 - 0 today to win the Girls Home Internationals for the first time since 1998.

Janette McCartney is the Overall Winner of the Kilmacolm Medal
The August Medal was played over Kilmacolm this afternoon and evening with the final players finishing about 8:30pm.
Janette McCartney (Erskine) was the overall winner with a net 69 by virtue of the BIH from Beatrice Orr (Kilmacolm).
Donna Jackson (Cochrane Castle) won the Scratch award with a gross 74

13 year old Eilidh cuts her handicap to 5
Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm) was in the top ten at the Riccarton Rosebowl at Hamilton on Sunday 6th August With 2 terrific rounds of 74 and 72 (Par 72). She has now has cut her handicap to 5.
13 Year old Eilidh started the season with a handicap of 13 !!

Tom Leham Trophy - the Briggs Sisters are Winners
Megan Briggs[Kilmacolm] won the Tom Leham Trophy 2006 played over Troon Lochgreen today.
Megan scored a gross 73 against the par 75 course where the CSS was 74.
Not to be outdone , sister Eilidh won the handicap trophy with a 74 less 7 net 67.
