Renfrewshire -- The 2008 West of Scotland Champions
It was disappointing the afternoon singles games were rained off after seven holes as our team was moving into a commanding position.
Over the three days it was great to see each and every player enjoy success.
Many thanks to Caddy Mistress, Kay Black, and all our trolley pullers and reserve pullers who appeared each day - the girls would have found it a great struggle if you hadn't been there.
Many thanks to all our supporters who took the time to travel North in their pink tops and brollies. Your support was invaluable.
The Scottish County Finals will be held at Inchmarlo Golf Club, Banchory, from 19th to 21st September, 2008.
Thanks to the sporting Teams of Ayrshire, D & A and Lanarkshire. We know you will be fighting back next year!
Captain Christeen

Ayrshire win the Kennedy Salver
Ayrshire won the Kennedy Salver West of Scotland Inter County Junior Handicap Competition at Dalmilling Golf Club, Ayr yesterday. Renfrewshire were lying in second place after the morning foursomes but dropped to fourth place after the afternoon's play. Lanarkshire were second and D &A third. Conditions were not easy for all the players with blustery winds, rain and the odd blink of sunshine! The Renfrewshire girls were a credit to our Association and played well but it was just not their day! Better luck next year girls.

Renfrewshire Girls at the Curtis Cup in St Andrews
Maureen Cook, Denise Cowan (a mum) and I had a great day with the girls on Saturday.....at the Curtis Cup. The clubs who sent Juniors were Gourock, Cochrane Castle, Elderslie, Whitecraigs, Cathcart Castle and Bonnyton. We watched the end of the morning rounds then visited the Club Golf Stand where the girls were given a questionnaire and some fun golf to play....no prizes for Renfrewshire sadly! After lunch we took a few photos...including the Swilken Bridge then went out to the loop to watch the fourballs come through. It was great to see our GB and I team which included 4 Scottish girls and we shall follow their progress in the next few years to see if they turn professional.
