WOMEN AND GOLF MAGAZINE -- JULY/AUGUST EDITION
For those who have missed reading the Women and Golf Magazine this month - Renfrewshire County had a page written about them. Unfortunately Renfrewshire did not win the inter County Jamboree at Douglas Park but young Jennifer Rankine (Haggs Castle) has been playing in the European Young Masters in Switzerland - The photo they used of the County Team was the 2015 team and here are a couple of other minor errors -- Apart from that it was nice for us to be mentioned in the magazine.

MARION STEWART WINS THROUGH TO THE COUNTY ROSEBOWL FINAL
Carol Fell (Ranfurly Castle) and Marion Stewart (Kilmacolm) played their semi final tie over Kilmacolm today in pleasant but breezy conditions.
Carol got off to a good start with a par, birdie, par, start to go 2 up.
Marion who was receiving 3 strokes (4th, 9th and 13th) won back the 4th and the 5th to square the match. The 6th was halved and then Carol had 2 good holes to go back to 2 up and with
another stroke hole Marion won the 9th to be 1 down at the turn.
With 4 holes parred had halved in the back nine and a couple of missed putts by Carol the match was all square going down the 18th.
Marion played the 18th well and when Carol overshot the green with a rather over aggressive shot and poor chip back -- Marion was able to win on the 18th-- Many congrats Marion
In the top half of the draw a very busy Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm) the leading qualifier has given a walk over to Shirley Back (Gleddoch) who now meets Captain Gillian Kyle (East Renfrewshire). The winner of this semi final tie will now play Marion in the final

ROSE BOWL RESULT - GILLIAN KYLE REAHES THE SEMI FINAL
Captain Gillian played Past-Captain Gill at Cochrane Castle GC last night in sunshine and showers.
Gill went 1 up after a birdie at the 3rd then 2 up after a net birdie at the 5th. A wayward tee shot at the 6th allowed Gillian to get 1 back but she had to wait until the 10th to square the game. The match was all square at the 12th then Gill had to concede the 13th and Gillian won the next 2 be dormie 3. Gill was unable to capitalise on her 2nd shot at the 16th so the match ended with Gillian winning 3&2.
Poor Gill had to then go to work and Gillian came home to nurse a nasty cleg bite on her ankle!
