COUNTY ROSEBOWL -- SEMI FINALISTS
Iona Stephen is the last player to make the semi finals of the Rosebowl due to being given a w/o from Nancy MacGadie.
Jennifer Mack (Haggs Castle) and Fiona Roger (Ranfurly Castle) played their County Rosebowl tie yesterday (Wednesday 27th June) at Haggs Castle Golf Club. Mixed golf apparently was played in very still conditions - the first few holes were pretty wet, but they were lucky that the rain stopped for the remainder of the round. The course was great considering the previous nights heavy rain, and the greens were excellent. The rough was heavy and extremely wet. The match was very close with Fiona managing to win at the 19th.
June Irons (Caldwell) and Anne Aitken (Eastwood) played on the 26th June at Caldwell - Anne was the winner - sorry no report on this game.
Carol Fell (Ranfurly Castle) and Gillian Kyle (East Renfrewshire) played their County Rosebowl tie on Monday 25th June over Ranfurly Castle in glorious weather conditions.
Gillian who had to give Carol 6 shots found herself 2 down at the turn despite being only 2 over par !! Gillian says that I was to say that my play was "awesome " when I kept slotting putts on the beautiful greens -- (The greens had been "ironed" and were perfect.)
I can't say that my play was as she suggested but yes we had a terrific game and we both enjoyed the outing.
Please let Jean Irvine or email your webmaster by clicking HERE and sending in your result.
