JAMBOREE -- WELL DONE AND THANKYOU

What a fabulous 3 days we have just had in the sunshine at Kilmacolm with another Renfrewshire success at the West Inter County Jamboree!

WELL DONE TO EVERYONE INVOLVED!

The girls in the team all played so well and we congratulate them on winning the Salver for the 3rd year in a row. They will be going to BOTHWELL CASTLE in September to try once more to win the SCOTTISH COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS and to bring back the Trophy to the West.

We shall be looking for Caddies and Supporters and if anyone thinks that they could help us, then please would they contact our Vice Captain, Maureen Woodhead (tel. no. and address on your fixture card).

The dates in September are:- FRIDAY 17th, SATURDAY 18th AND SUNDAY 19th.

And now I wish to thank all those who came along to caddy at Kilmacolm. Your help is invaluable. When the girls are playing 2 rounds each day over 3 days, they can get quite tired and the fact that they do not have to push their trolleys makes a big difference. I know that they appreciate your help very much.....so a huge THANK YOU!

I also want to thank all the loyal supporters who watched the matches and applauded the magnificent golf. Hopefully you will find time to come to BOTHWELL CASTLE in SEPTEMBER too and we look forward to seeing you there.

I wish to record our thanks also to Kilmacom Golf Club for hosting this prestigious event. All the staff worked so hard and they made everyone feel welcome. The Golf course was in great condition and I know that the Greens staff were out each day double cutting the greens and making new "hole locations"....ie pin positions! Thankyou to Lachlan and his staff.
In the clubhouse Vic Weldin, the club Secretary, could not have been more helpful and along with Marjorie and her kitchen staff and Mhairi and her bar staff everything ran smoothly so we thank them too for all their hard work.

Our 3 referees, Bill Mitchell, Sheila Pickles and Sheila Goudie did a great job. Fortunately no-one required their services for which they were extremely grateful and they assured me that they really appreciated the gorgeous vews! Our joint West Secretaries, Isabel Crawford and Norah McCrossin did a great job as official starters so to all these people we extend our gratful thanks.

Thanks also go to Carol Fell our webmaster for the wonderful piccies of Kilmacolm and a huge thank to her for taking a lot of them and for all the editing of them to go on the website! It makes it so interesting for us to look at and we appreciate all your hard work.

Finally, I cannot finish without mentioning Secretary, Morag and her sidekick(!), Results Secretary, Freda for running the "back office" with such efficiency. It made it easy for Maureen and myself to concentrate on the team, knowing that all was running smoothly back in the clubhouse. THANK YOU GIRLS!

HOPE TO SEE AS MANY OF YOU AS POSSIBLE AT BOTHWELL CASTLE-17-19 SEPT.
