RENFREWSHIRE COUNTY ARE 3RD IN SCOTLAND!

The Team has just returned home from the Scottish Finals at Baberton and on their behalf I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who sent us cards, texts and emails wishing us good luck. We are also most grateful to our caddies and supporters (not only those from Renfrewshire but those from Ayrshire, D & A and Lanarkshire too) who came along - Renfrewshire was well represented.

We are sorry we did not manage to bring back the new Shield - the standard of golf was very high and the opposition tough. It was just not our year! Congratulations to Northern Counties on their success and we appreciate it was very painful for Midlothian to lose on countback. Galloway must be congratulated on keeping their spirits up and are an example to us all.

To qualify for the Scottish Finals two years in a row and to gain a creditable third place is no mean feat. The last time we qualified back to back was in 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 196o and 1961. Renfrewshire won every year bar 1958.

Well done girls. You are a credit to Renfrewshire on and off the course. I have no doubt you will reach your goal in the near future.
