The Course which was covered in leaves and fairly damp in areas after all the torrential rain was, however, enjoyed by all since the greens were in magnificent condition.

Commonwealth Spoons -- No Renfrewshire Winners
The rearranged Commonwealth Spoons Competition was played over Cathkin Braes on Thursday 21st October
The two original Renfrewshire County couples that could play on the new date were Jackie MacDonald and Denise Cowan (Ranfurly Castle) and Merope Dunlope and Maureen Taggart (Old Ranfurly).
Due to the unavailabilty of Evy Macgregor and Jean Irvine (Ranfurly Castle) and Maureen Woodhead (Gourock) and Gillian McGinlay (Cochrane Castle) the new couples were Lyn Black and Carol Anderson (Eastwood) and it should have been Trish Brown and Megan Briggs (Kilmacolm) as the 4th couple but Trish had Jury Duty and although she was not needed at the beginning of the week she had to call back on the night before the Commonwealth Spoons so, therefore, the reserve couple played which was Audrey Sturgess and Evy Park (Haggs Castle)
Unfortunately none of the Renfrewshire partnershis featured in the prizelist. The Spoons were won by Mary Malcolm & Helen Thomson (Fife) 84-10 = 74
