EILIDH RETAINS THE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS AWARD
A field of 12 ladies’ contested the season ending Champion of Champions at Glasgow Gailes Golf Club today (Sunday 14th October 2012.)
The weather was extremely kind, dry and cold, with very little wind to test the players.
Those in the field may have been few in number but of very high quality with several of them winning multiple qualifying events for the Champion of Champions.
Despite good scoring conditions there were only 2 players to break 80 and the CSS went to 78. Despite a triple bogey 7 at the 2nd hole last year’s Champion Renfrewshire's Eilidh Briggs (West of Scotland Champion and University Champion) prevailed once again with the same score as last year a 75.
Renfrewshire County Champion Alyson McKechin was runner up with a 78.

AUTUMN GREENSOMES - GOUROCK
It is with some regret I have decided to cancel the above competition.
I visited the club and course today and spoke with the Professional and the Head Greenkeeper. Gourock, like many other courses, is saturated and water logged. There is heavy rain forecast later today, overnight and early tomorrow. Quite frankly, I believe the course is dangerous. The competition will not be rescheduled.
This is an unhappy end to our golfing season and we can only hope next year will be better. Let's face it, it can't be any worse (can it?!).
I look forward to seeing you all at our AGM on 7 November 2012 at Haggs Castle Golf Club.
