ROSEBOWL UPDATE - CAPTAIN MAUREEN WINS SEMI FINAL AFTER MARATHON MATCH

A week ago County Treasurer Tracy Masterton and myself embarked on what must be a marathon Rosebowl tie.  We played at Gourock after we had both been at work.  After 18 holes we were all square and headed up the 19th.  We ran out of daylight with the match still square!!

It was back to Gourock today to resolve the tie.  Both of us played very well.  Tracy popping in the odd net birdie here and there and me holing some crucial putts towards the end of the tie.

The match was finally resolved on the 17th green with the Captain running out the 2/1 winner.  We had played 36 holes before the tie was won.

We both agree we had a terrific two days matchplay and Tracy was delighted to see some of the sunnier views from Gourock - those who played in the April medal will still be mentally scarred by the horrific weather.

Anyway, Captain Maureen is in the final and now meets Denise Cowan who played Pam Harvey over Ranfurly Castle last Friday and won 3/2 in what was a very good game.
