SECOND ROUND TIES OF THE WINTER FOURSOMES ARE UNDERWAY

The 2nd round of the Winter foursomes are now underway -- 2 ties were played yesterday in mixed weather,
Match 1
The 2011- 2012 Winter Foursomes Champions Carol Fell (Ranfurly Castle) and Janette McCartney (Erskine) were up against the very strong Renfrew pairing of Brenda Conway and Fiona Armour.
The match started out at Erskine in torrential rain but after about 3 holes it dried up. With reasonably good play on both sides the match was all square at the ninth. The Renfrew partnership used their 8 shots well and with an exceedingly good run from the 10th to the 15th in one over par Carol and Janette were well and truly gubbed 4&3.
A birdie 4 at the 15th by Carol and Janette with a par to Brenda and Fiona finally sealed their fate !!

Match 2 
Barbara Lyle (Whitecraigs) and Susan Reid (Kilmacolm) played Linda McDougall and Anne Terrey (Greenock)  yesterday at Whitecraigs GC – Barbara and Susan won. Weather pretty mixed with rain, hailstones, wind and the occasional glimpse of blue sky!
