JENNIFER RANKINE WINS THE HAGGS CASTLE CHAMPIONSHIP

Jennifer is presented with the Championship Trophy

In the Haggs Castle Ladies Final, a repeat of the 2015 final, young Jennifer Rankine was defending her title against 2014 Champion and current Carradale GC Ladies Champion, Laura McGeachy. 
 The game was very tight and all square after 9 holes with both players having made the turn in 38 shots. Jennifer won the 10th after a concession by Laura. The play was even over the next few holes and Jennifer was two up after a straightforward par at the 15th. Jennifer had a birdie 3 at the 16th to retain the Championship by 3 and 2.

MEGAN AND VICE CAPTAIN GILL PLAY IN THE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

Well done to Megan Briggs and Gillian Kyle who played in the CHAMPION OF CHAMPION'S TROPHY at Glasgow Gailes today. Both had very respectable scores.

JENNIFER RANKINE WINS HAGGS CASTLE LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Jennifer Rankine - 2015 Haggs Castle Champion

The Haggs Castle Finals Day was yesterday - Sunday 30th August .  Some dryish weather which is a bit of a surprise given the weather we have suffered this year.

The Ladies Final was Laura McGeachy, the defending Champion against RLCGA's 14 year old Jennifer Rankine.

Laura started well and was two up at the turn. Jennifer started to chip away at this lead and with wins at the 10th, 13th & 14th took the lead. Holes were then halved with Jennifer missing a putt on 17 to close out the match but leaving her 1 up going down 18. Jennifer secured a good 5 on 18 to win two up.

She is the youngest ever Ladies Champion at Haggs Castle.

RLCGA - SHIRLEY BACK IS GLEDDOCH'S 2013 CLUB CHAMPION

Shirley Back is Gleddoch Ladies Champion 2013.

She played against June Lockhart in the final on Saturday 28th September.

It was an excellent match, on a lovely sunny afternoon, and both girls impressed the spectators with the high standard of golf.
