Dear Member,
I received last month the final proposals for the impending vote on the Amalgamation of the Scottish Ladies Golf Association with the Scottish Golf Union. This weekend I have received a voting form which I shall use on May 25th at a special EGM in Perth when all the Captains from the SLGA Counties, the Lady Captains of SLGA affiliated Clubs and the representatives from the SGU Areas will gather to cast their vote.
I have to vote on your behalf and it is my intention to vote FOR the proposal
All the information regarding this important decision can be found on the SLGA website:- www.slga.co.uk and I suggest that you read about it if you are interested. You will find this at the top of the page under:- Amalgamation Update. Where the links to the following statement can be found -------
The Amalgamation Working Group has reviewed the feedback from this consultation and finalised the amalgamation proposal as a consequence. The final proposal, memorandum & articles and regulations have now been sent to clubs, counties and areas. The appendices referred to in the proposal are available here.
You will remember that we were asked to find out from our membership how they would feel about merging the Ladies’ Counties and the Mens’ Areas if and when the amalgamation took place and the huge majority of RLCGA members were not in favour of this. I want to allay any fears which you may have had about joining forces with the Mens’ Areas. Some of the smaller Counties may well do this in time but we at Renfrewshire Ladies County Golf have no intention of so doing anytime in the near future.
Please feel free to get in touch with me by email at cmbardlui@aol.com or by phone on 01505 873462.
I hope that you have all been enjoying the recent lovely weather and have been reducing your handicaps!
I look forward to seeing you at the Spring Meeting this coming Thursday and at future fixtures throughout the season.
Happy golfing and regards from Trish Brown (Captain)
