Scottish Girls Internationalist, Alyson McKechin (Elderslie) and Broomieknowe's Kate McIntosh lead the field by one shot after the first round of the Scottish Ladies' Junior Open Stroke Play Championship. Both girls had three under par rounds of 71 at a very warm and sunny Cardross Golf Club. Rachael Watton (Mortonhall) is one shot off the lead while Paige Kemp (Boyce Hill), Gillian Monteith (Portpatrick Dunskey) and Alice Boothroyd (Rudding Park) are the other players under par after opening rounds of 73.
Three time defending Champion, Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar) had a steady opening round of 75, having only arrived at 1am in the morning ahead of a 9:30am tee time.
The second round will be played tomorrow (Thursday 28 July) with the third and final round to be played on Friday 29 July.
