RENFREWSHIRE HAS A NEW LIFE PRESIDENT, CAPTAIN, VICE CAPTAIN AND AN AMBASSADOR

With some glasses of Wine to Celebrate the New Appointments 
The 102nd Renfrewshire AGM was held last night at Haggs Castle Golf Club. Maureen Woodhead pictured above is our new Captain, and Gillian McGinlay pictured below is our new Vice Captain.

The other main news of the evening was the appointment of Wendy Cameron as Honorary Life President. She follows on from Kathleen McNeil who died in 2006. Wendy was absolutely delighted to accept this highest of positions within Renfrewshire County.

Wendy who has had a terrific golfing career especially in the administrative side was honoured to accept the post --
Wendy joined Eastwood Golf Club in 1963 and was Secretary and Handicap Secretary for 15 years. She was County Captain 1982 - 1983 - Team won finals at Peebles
Chairman of Scottish Selectors 1987 - 1988
Chairman SLGA 1989.
Played for the County and Scottish Vets
Captain of Vets -- Team won at Mansfield
President of SLGA 1998 - 2000
President of Vets 2000 - 2001
President of RLCGA 2004 - 2011
Honorary President West Vets 2010 - 2011
The happy memories and highlights of her golfing career are -- twice winner of the Challenge Bowl, the gold medal (once) and the Scratch Trophy at the Scottish Vets all played on the Kings Course Gleneagles.
The other highlights are - Captain of Renfrewshire and the Scottish Vets when they won at Peebles and Mansfield.

Finally it was announce that Honorary Member and Webmaster Carol Fell has been appointed as Renfrewshire County Ambassador to liaise with the SLGA to promote the 37th Curtis Cup that will be held at Nairn Golf Club next June. -- She was presented with some Chocolates by Captain Maureen and --- The significance of the Chocolates can be seen in the video below!!!


Finally the Prizegiving took place which Honorary President Eileen Gibb presented the trophies and prizes. Unfortunately Eilidh Briggs our Champion was not at the AGM due to SLGA training in Spain. -- However, here are some of the prizewinners.
